Chipco Preserve works alongside Native communities to support sovereignty, cultural memory, youth, elders, and community-led priorities. Our role is not to speak for Native nations, but to support relationship-based work rooted in respect, responsibility, and long-term commitment.

Cultural Preservation & Living Memory
Storytelling, remembrance, historical education, and projects such as the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Greasy Grass.
Youth & Elders
Support for intergenerational knowledge, care, education, and cultural continuity.
International & Policy Engagment
UNPFII participation, policy updates, sovereignty education, and public-facing advocacy.
United Nations

Consultative Status
Chipco Preserve (501c3) has consultative status with the United Nations and participates in the annual Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) and other events related to our mission. The UNPFII is a “high-level advisory body to the Economic and Social Council” that addresses indigenous economic and social development issues, culture, the environment, education, health, and human rights.
