Updated: May 26

Overview

The nationwide annual Great American Clean-Up takes place in March or April. This spring cleanup is sponsored locally by Keep Pasco Beautiful, a private nonprofit corporation. Learn more here.

The 2026 Follow-Up Report of Pasco County's Great American Clean-Up:

Keep Pasco Beautiful continued its long tradition of participating in the Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup®, a national effort that encourages shared community responsibility through litter removal and prevention. In 2026, Pasco County’s cleanup brought together 703 volunteers across 44 locations, including Holiday, New Port Richey, Port Richey, Hudson, Land O’ Lakes, Dade City, and Wesley Chapel. Together, volunteers contributed 1,711 hours and removed 32,480 pounds of litter from local communities and waterways.

Using the Independent Sector’s volunteer value of $34.79 per hour, the cleanup represented an estimated $59,525.69 in community benefit. Keep Pasco Beautiful coordinated trash disposal and provided supplies, including trash bags, gloves, and T-shirts.

Cleanups do more than remove trash; they help prevent future litter. Clean spaces encourage cleaner habits, and every volunteer plays a role in helping #KeepPascoWatersBeautiful.
